Open Fields is a small non-graded independent school, just off the common on Thetford Hill, Vermont. Founded in 1971 by Jean K. Aull, Open Fields is open to all children, ages 4 through 12.

Awesome Autumn Afternoon - our annual Fall Event
Each Fall, Open Fields School hosts Awesome Autumn Afternoon, a fun day of activities including an auction with auctioneer Dean Whitlock, kids' activities, music, and a harvest lunch and snacks at the Thetford Center Community Center (Rt. 113, Thetford, across from the Thetford Center Store). Doors open at noon; auction starts at 1:00 pm. Outdoor harvest-themed kids' activities run through the afternoon. 2013 date to be announced. The Open Fields Medieval Festival was named a 2013 "Pick for Kids" by the Vermont Chamber of Commerce in the Summer/Fall Vermont Vacation Guide. "During this family-friendly celebration, the town center comes alive with the sights and sounds of a medieval village. Come in costume... meet Benny the Dragon, and enjoy feats of juggling and acrobatics. Even teens will go home happy."
