Absentee Bidding Policy

Absentee bids will be accepted on-line via our Bidding Form until noon Eastern Daylight Time on Thursday, May 6 (two days prior to the auction). All bids are in US dollars.

Absentee bids will be kept in strict confidence. In the event of identical absentee bids on the same egg, the bidder who placed the earliest bid will be considered.

We do require a credit card number for on-line absentee bids. We will contact you for your credit card number by phone, and submit a credit card authorization for the amount of your high bid before the auction. Sorry, but we cannot take credit card numbers through the bidding form.

At the auction, we will bid competitively for you, up to your bid price. Absentee bids will not be executed until a "live" bid is received, and will proceed at the normal increments established by the auctioneer, unless there is no other interest, in which case the left bidder will open at the lowest starting point for that particular egg.

Shipping costs are the responsibility of the bidder. Eggs can be shipped to you or picked up at the School (Thetford Hill, Vermont). Due to the nature of the artwork being offered at this auction, we require that all shipments be insured for your protection as well as ours.

After the auction, we will notify only high bidders of their winning bids and the shipping costs (including insurance).

If you have any questions about the eggs or our policies, please feel free to call Open Fields School at 802-785-2077.

Telephone Bidding

Telephone bids will be accepted during the live auction from those who have made arrangements prior to the auction. We will call you when the egg(s) you are interested in are being auctioned. If you are interested in being contacted by telephone during the auction to bid on an egg, please call the school at 802-785-2077 by noon Eastern time on Thursday, May 6, 2010 and leave a message, or check the "bid by phone" box on the bidding form.
